these terms cover your use of caylo at caylo.space. by making an account you agree to them. if you don’t, please don’t use caylo.

your account and your content

• you must be old enough to agree to a contract where you live, and give us a real email address.
• what you write is yours. you give us only the permission we need to store it, sync it and show it back to you.
• you are responsible for your password and for what happens in your account.
• don’t use caylo to break the law, to attack other systems, or to store content you have no right to keep.

plans

there are three plans: free, pro and max. free has no cay. pro and max include cay at the levels described on the pricing page. plans renew until you cancel. you can cancel any time; the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, and downgrading never deletes your notes.

credits

• credits are a unit of cay usage. they are a service credit, not money.
• credits are non-transferable, can’t be redeemed for cash, and can only be used for cay.
• credits included in pro reset each billing period and do not roll over.
• credits you buy as a top-up last 12 months from purchase.
• we may change how many credits an action costs; we show the cost before a scholar run starts.

fair use on max

max includes swift and scribe without a credit meter. that is under fair use: the plan is for one person’s own work. if your use in a billing period goes far beyond what a person doing their own work would use (we measure this internally, at roughly 10,000 credits’ worth), swift and scribe quietly move to a mid-tier model for the rest of the period. we never stop you from using caylo, and your notes are never affected. automated, shared or resold use of an account is not fair use. scholar on max is 40 runs a month; more runs are available with credits.

cay can be wrong

cay is software. it can misread you, and scholar reports can contain mistakes even when they cite sources. check what matters. every cay change can be undone, and cay’s writing is labelled as cay’s.

deleting your account

you can export everything and delete your account from settings. deletion is scheduled for seven days later, so you can change your mind, and then everything is erased, including your history.

changes, liability, contact

we may update these terms and will tell you about material changes. caylo is provided as is; to the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem. questions: hello@caylo.space.
